News Bulletin 01.11.2009

Our centre rose up to the needs of the war affected persons in the IDP (Internally Displaced People) camps in the North with the help of the ICRC and other Govt. agencies. They were identified and brought to our centre by the ICRC. Depending on their needs they were fitted with the artificial limbs. Others were given wheelchairs, crutches and other supportive devices depending on their requirements for mobility and return to normal life.

In the recent past there have been a larger number returning to Jaffna Peninsula needing support from us re artificial limbs and other mobility aids for their rehabilitation to normal life. With continuing support of the ICRC we have doubled the production of artificial limbs and other mobility aids.

The management and staff have worked hard to help the large numbers who call on us for assistance. We are trying our best to fulfill the needs of the war affected. However we need funds to continue our service to the large number who come to us. We appeal to those who wish to help us in this hour of need by contributing whatever they can to our bank accounts. Your supports will be duly acknowledged by our official receipt.
